As a Moderator, you shape the participant experience. SimONE is not a presentation—it is a guided clinical journey that encourages engagement, discussion, and clinical decision-making.

Key Principles

Be engaging and confident.
Become comfortable with the platform controls in Sandbox Mode before facilitating a live session. Mastering the interface allows you to focus on the participants, guide the discussion naturally, and lead the clinical scenario with confidence.
Example: "Welcome. Today, we are going to review a patient case and make clinical decisions together."
Encourage participation
Create opportunities for participants to contribute without putting anyone on the spot. Open-ended questions help foster discussion and keep the session interactive.
Example: "Looking at this patient profile, what stands out first?"
Facilitate dialogue, not lectures
Transform presentations into conversations by asking open-ended questions that encourage critical thinking and group discussion.
Example: "Based on these symptoms, what clinical barriers might we face with this treatment?"
Create anticipation before interactions
Build engagement by pausing before revealing the next step, result, or decision point. Giving participants a moment to predict outcomes encourages active involvement.
Example: "Before we move to the next screen, what lab results are we expecting to see?"
Give participants time to think and respond
Embrace the silence. Allow participants time to process information before expecting a response. A brief pause can lead to more thoughtful discussion, deeper engagement, and greater participation.
Example: "Take a moment to review the information, and feel free to share your thoughts or questions when you're ready."

Best Practices

Avoid one-way presentations. Foster discussion by engaging participants throughout the session.
Ask open-ended questions.
Invite participants to read and interpret information displayed on the screen.
Encourage participants to explain their reasoning and clinical decisions.
Reinforce that there are no wrong answers—only opportunities to share experiences and discuss clinical practice.
Build momentum before launching interactions.
Ask if participants are ready before advancing to the next screen.

Virtual Session Navigation Tips

When leading virtual sessions, you shape the pace of the experience. Remember:

"Move Back": This action moves all participants back to the previous screen.

"Move All Forward": Advances all participants to the next screen simultaneously. Always allow time for reflection before moving on.

Important: Once you reach the Waiting Room, do not use "Move Back". Doing so will break the results interaction for the entire session.
